The Trucks are:
Kristen (vox, keyboard, guitar)
Faith (bass, drums, vox)
Marissa (xylophone, vox, sound effects)
Lindy (percussion, keyboard)

Partial official description: "Wow, can you believe it, four smart and friendly girls who are getting tougher and more brave by the minute? They've all been through a lot - loved and shoved and learned and burned you alive. They're figuring it out and keeping their humor. They're brilliant and charming (a cockiness that's all an act, but the audience is in on the private joke) and freaking cool to boot... if you're into the whole clumsy dorky nerd thing.

Kristin likes to flash her removable front tooth. Faithie rocks that bass in a goth tutu like no one's biz. If you can tear your gaze from Lindy's fucking machine gun drums, you'd notice Marissa's an embarrassingly spastic dancer, but keeps going 'til you join in."

Babble & Beat - What 5 words come to mind when you think of your band The Trucks?

Faith - Sassy, energetic, silly, hot, and loud.

Babble & Beat - Your debut album, ‘The Trucks’ was just released. What is your personal favorite song on it?

Faith - 'Intro.'

Babble & Beat - Your lyrics are quite forward & blunt (but relatable). Although, and lucky for me, I cannot personally relate to your ditty ‘Pervs in the Bushes!’ Does that candidness scare the records execs or has it been embraced so far?

Faith - Maybe both, but we engage our audience, and they participate. I can't really think of other bands that are doing that. Maybe Gwar, but that's a whole different kind of involvement.

Babble & Beat - Speaking of which, have you had any bad experiences in the industry so far? If so, what? Any related advice to offer other bands?

Faith - Well, we're really cautious and protective of our music when it comes to the "industry." No bad experiences yet.

Babble & Beat - The Trucks formed in 2003 in order to help meet the need for more female bands to play a music festival at Western Washington University.

Did you ever imagine you’d get this far so soon?

Faith - No way!

Babble & Beat - We heard that you were using a toy xylophone and a 1980s keyboard in the beginning.

What instruments are you playing now (maker, model)?

Faith - I play a Squire bass, and we still play with our 80s Casio keyboards.

Babble & Beat - The Trucks are currently touring the West Coast!

Any plans to tour the Midwest and the East Coast this year?

Faith - We are about to play South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. From there another 2 week mini tour back up the West Coast. We are also planning a 6 week East Coast tour in September.

Babble & Beat - What kinds of people go to your shows? It sounds like you have fans from all walks of life.

Faith - That's what I love about our shows the most, so many different kinds of people come!

Babble & Beat - What would you like to see The Trucks accomplish in the next year or two?

Faith - Record a new CD and go to Japan.

Babble & Beat - You are currently running a remix contest for your song ‘Titties’. What do you think of the submitted versions so far?

Faith - I've only heard a few of the remixes, but it's pretty rad to hear different perspectives on our song.

Babble & Beat - The official website mentions some upcoming “Live Sessions” that will be streamed. Can you tell us a bit about them (which songs, where recorded, when, ...)?

Faith - I'm in the dark about that one.

This is where we ask personal questions for the fans. Yeah, they're often stupid questions. We like reading the answers though!

Babble & Beat - Do you collect anything? Any hobbies?

Faith - I collect vintage panties on eBay. Sometimes I make art and sell or give it away.

Babble & Beat - What’s a “modern girl” to you?

Faith - A "modern girl" is a girl from the past brought back to the future.

Babble & Beat - Can you tell us your favorite and least favorite jobs before the band?

Faith - I would like to quote one of my favorite bands, "Careers, careers, blah, blah, bbbb, blah."

Babble & Beat - Any tattoos? What are they and where are they located?

Faith - I have many a ghetto tattoo all over me. They all have little special meanings here and there... and it's really just for me to get, like an inside joke.

Thank you so very much, Faith. We really love your sound... it’s very exciting to see a group like yours hit the scene!
